Digital Application Designer

Description:

Responsible for Overall design, Development of Hardware- including microcontroller/FPGA based Design, Component selection, Schematic design, Board Bring up, Card level testing, Development of application software-including Firmware development.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development of Hardware for LRUs, Mixed Signal Boards, Controller Boards, Test Jigs/Rigs, ATE for Airborne, Defense and Ground Applications,
  • Design and Development of Firmware and software architecture at system level for LRUs, Controller Boards, Test Jigs/Rigs, ATE for Airborne, Défense and Ground Applications.
  • Static timing analysis, timing optimization, timing constraints, clock domain crossing, experience in FPGA bring up activities
  • Communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, MDIO
  • System level design and development from concept to implementation including interface design, connection diagrams, integration and Testing.
  • Support actions to minimize risks. Ensure the company and customers’ intellectual properties are protected
  • Handle complex project RFPs, independently with high level of autonomy and accountability.

 

Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate in B.E. / B. Tech / M. Tech in Electronics/Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering

 

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in Xilinx, Altera (Intel), Lattice and corresponding design flow.
  • Knowledge of FPGA architecture, IO features, IO Constraints.
  • Knowledge of digital design fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of VHDL, experience in debugging of RTL issues at functional level or system level
  • Expertise in understanding the electrical (SI / Timing / EMI) aspects of the design and should be able to Provide solutions to the customers in this domain
  • Experience in schematic capture, library generation, routing rules creation, signal integrity optimization, Power Supply board layout designing with knowledge of signal Isolation and others Layout tools -Altium, Mentor Graphics Expedition. Experience of working on complex design involving RF/Analog and digital technology spanning multiple logic families
  • Must be conversant with DFx requirements.
  • Unit level Qualification and Certification, exposure to ESS, SOFT and Qualification Tests at Card level and Unit level.

 

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of DO-178
  • Knowledge of DO-254

 

Work Experience:

  • Strong engineering experience in Hardware Design and Development, preferably in Aerospace & Defence domain
  • 10- Year experience in Digital Design, majorly with FPGAs.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aerospace & Defence standards, including DFMEA, PFMEA
