EWIS Product Specialist

Role Description:

Execute the Product Engineering activities pertaining to new part builds per APQP processes that include identification of Bill of Material (BOM), Effort Estimation, preparations of Collateral Documents & support New Product Development (NPD) of Wire Harness assembly, Electrical Panels & Racks.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 To execute the Product Engineering activities in line to the Aerospace APQP phase 1 & 2 process steps in collaboration with the Process Engineering / Quality & Manufacturing teams. Adhere to a rhythm that confirms to –

  • Comprehensive Build to Specification design
  • Preparation of Bill of Material (BOM), error free BOM that captures all requirements.
  • Identify tools and estimation of efforts
  • Identify Key Characteristics, Critical Items and Test requirements
  • Identify qualified/approved suppliers for each part on BOM per customer QPL/ASL
  • Design test cables and test programs
  • Manage product/part changes and configurations & change impact in design (with material impact)
  • Support packaging development
  • Support proposal submission – case studies, technical proposal, supplier Statement of Work (SOW) etc.
  • Collaborate with process engineering & quality teams for industrialization
  • Exhibit knowledge on Materials, Key characteristics of parts, processes, techniques, methodologies, tools and equipment used with an enhanced focus on cost, safety, quality. Implement industry standards, best practices within the domain.
  • Stay abreast of new technology and initiate introduction of new materials, tools, Test equipment and process automation, towards improving quality and productivity enhancement.
  • Demonstrate ability and flexibility to manage multiple and significantly complex projects, RFPs independently with high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Risk and opportunity Management: Support actions to minimize risks. Ensure the company and customers’ intellectual properties are protected

 

Educational Qualification: Graduate in Electrical & Electronics engineering/ Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 6 years’ experience in Interconnect industry.

 

Work experience:

  • Strong manufacturing engineering experience in wire harness and Panels assembly
  • Design of Wire Harness assemblies and Electrical Panels
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace standards, harness and panels manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of APQP
  • 6 to 12 year experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry
